Executive Recruiter / Headhunter — Head of Offline Sales & Strategy (East Africa)
About the Company
Jiji is Africa's leading online marketplace, connecting millions of buyers and sellers across the continent. We are expanding our presence in Uganda, Ethiopia, and Tanzania and need an experienced recruiter to help us identify and hire a senior commercial leader in each market.
What We Need
We are looking for a freelance recruiter or recruitment consultant with proven experience hiring senior/executive-level candidates in East Africa — specifically in Uganda, Ethiopia, and Tanzania.
The role we are hiring for is **Head of Offline Sales and Business Strategy** — a senior commercial leadership position focused on:
- Offline sales growth and field sales execution
- Business expansion and distribution strategy
- Management of regional, multi-level sales teams
- Ideal candidates for this role will have a strong **FMCG or high-growth sales background**, proven experience in territorial management, and 7+ years in Sales/Business Development with at least 2 years managing large teams.
- *Your Responsibilities**
- Source and headhunt qualified candidates in the assigned country/countries
- Screen and shortlist candidates based on the job description provided
- Conduct initial interviews and submit candidate profiles with your assessment
- Send them test task from company to candidate and ensure timely completion
- Support scheduling and coordination through the interview process
- Provide market insights on candidate availability and salary benchmarks
- *Requirements**
- Demonstrated experience recruiting for senior/executive roles in East Africa
- Strong local network in Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia (please specify your coverage)
- Experience placing candidates in Sales, FMCG, or Business Development roles preferred
- Excellent communication in English
- Ability to work independently and deliver within agreed timelines
