We are seeking an experienced Crisis Specialist to join our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team. As a Crisis Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing critical support to individuals experiencing emotional distress through our National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. This is a remote position that requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and expertise in crisis intervention.

- *Job Summary**
The Crisis Specialist will be responsible for providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals experiencing emotional distress. This role requires a high level of expertise in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and service linkage. The Crisis Specialist will work closely with the team to ensure that individuals receive the support and resources they need to navigate their crisis.
- *Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
- Provides telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals experiencing emotional distress
- Answers crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs
- Conducts follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
- Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
- Actively participates in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
- Assists in administrative tasks as needed
- *Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Effectively communicates via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
- Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Demonstrates knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources
- Knowledge of suicide assessments
- Skill in providing crisis intervention
- *Shifts**
- #1: 4am-12:30pm Sunday – Thursday with Friday/Saturday Off
- #2: 4:30am-1:00pm Wednesday-Sunday with Monday/Tuesday off
- #3: 6:00am-2:30pm Sunday-Thursday with Friday/Saturday off
- #4: 9am-5:30pm Friday-Tuesday with Wednesday/Thursday off
- #5: 12pm-8:30pm Sunday-Thursday with Friday/Saturday off
- #6: 3:00pm-11:00pm Wednesday-Sunday with Monday/Tuesday off
- #7: 6:30pm-3:00am Friday-Tuesday with Wednesday/Thursday Off
- #8: 9:00pm-5:30am Sunday-Thursday with Friday/Saturday off
- #9: 10:00pm-6:30am Tuesday-Saturday with Sunday/Monday off
- *Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required; or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
- Six months to one year of related crisis experience is preferred
- Required Certification/Licensure: N/A
