As a Customer Service Benefit Advocate, you'll play a vital role in helping our customers navigate the complexities of health insurance and make informed decisions about their benefits. With a strong focus on customer service, you'll be the go-to expert for our customers, providing guidance, support, and education to ensure they get the most out of their health insurance plans.

  • *Job Summary:**

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Benefit Advocate to join our team in Greensboro, NC. As a remote worker, you'll have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home, while still being an integral part of our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, navigating complex health insurance plans, and helping customers make informed decisions about their benefits.   • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Respond to and resolve customer service inquiries and issues on the first call, providing guidance and support to help customers navigate their health insurance plans.
  • Help customers understand the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven healthcare, including selecting the best benefit plan options, maximizing the value of their health plan benefits, and choosing a quality care provider.
  • Contact care providers (doctor's offices) on behalf of customers to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance.
  • Assist customers in navigating myuhc.com and other careerzynith websites, encouraging and reassuring them to become self-sufficient.
  • Research complex issues pertaining to customers' health, status, and potential plan options, navigating across multiple databases with confidence and compassion.
  • *Essential Qualifications:**
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 6+ months of customer service experience
  • Experience with computer and Windows PC applications, including the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to work any shift between the hours of 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM EST from Monday - Friday, including occasional overtime and weekends based on business need
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Healthcare / Insurance environment (familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit plan design)
  • Social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion, and behavior change (working with vulnerable populations)
  • *Telecommuting Requirements:**
  • Reside within a reasonable distance of careerzynith's office in Greensboro, NC
  • Ability to keep all company-sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a careerzynith-approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
  • *Compensation and Benefits:**
  • Hourly range: $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment
