As a Medical Insurance Customer Service Advisor, you'll be responsible for:

  • Communicating with new patients to explain the billing process and answer any questions they may have
  • Proactively reaching out to patients with billing policy changes to ensure a smooth transition
  • Addressing patient concerns in a timely and professional manner, escalating issues to leadership as necessary
  • Conducting follow-up phone calls to patients to resolve any outstanding issues and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Serving as a consistent point of contact for patients regarding financial assistance programs, statements, insurance changes, and charges
  • Managing, updating, and communicating all aspects of the Financial Assistance Program (FAP) to relevant departments
  • Communicating and obtaining patient information changes for database maintenance and updates
  • Inputting data into our company computer platform to keep customer records up-to-date
  • Sharing knowledge gained with other staff members and working collaboratively as a team
  • Interacting with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner
  • Recognizing patients' rights and responsibilities and supporting them in the performance of job duties, respecting patient confidentiality and privacy
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned
  • *Qualification Requirements**

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent
  • Some college preferred with collections, verification, and/or analysis experience
  • Customer service call center experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong customer service acumen and effective verbal and listening communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and work independently
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn the use of Lynx and CPR+
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications
