We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Representative, Transportation to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for supervising daily bus route operations and personnel, managing the day-to-day operations of an assigned area, and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Supervise bus drivers and attendants within assigned area, ensuring conformity to safe driving practices, established routes, and prescribed schedules

  • Assist in establishing and revising area bus routes, and provide backup to the Bus Dispatcher as needed

  • Communicate with principals, staff, students, and communities to resolve concerns, address student issues, and review routes to ensure a positive relationship with schools and communities

  • Conduct regular school visits to partner with school administrators and address issues, and implement best practices to ensure operational efficiencies in the assigned area

  • Maintain an on-the-road presence at all assigned schools and service areas, ensuring that safety standards and requirements are met


Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED required, with 60 college credits in transportation, management, or a related field preferred

  • Three years of experience in transportation operations, traffic management, safety, and training, or a related field required

  • Possession of a valid class C Maryland driver's license or an equivalent, with a commercial class B commercial driver's license (CDL) required within six months of hire

  • Knowledge of local streets and road systems, traffic and highway safety rules and regulations, and laws governing school transportation

  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others, effectively coordinate the completion of regularly assigned bus routes, and maintain records and complete reports
