What you'll do...
As a Franchise Regional Director at H&R Block, you will play a pivotal role in driving client growth and increasing company profitability by leading assigned franchise consultants (FC’s) across a specified region (approximately 7-9 FC's across the Eastern Region of the US). Your responsibilities will include building trust between franchisees and H&R Block/Franchise Consultants to affect positive and sustained change that will meet our clients need for trusted support and service. This role is also a resource to FCs, franchise ops, and other H&R Block teams and serves as the liaison for escalated issues from the franchisee.
Day to day, you’ll…
Lead and develop a team of Franchise Consultants to support franchise business growth and client experience
Partner on short‑ and long‑term business planning, including pricing, real estate, and market analysis
Coach teams to tailor support based on franchisee lifecycle (startup, growth, mature, or exit)
Ensure franchise compliance with agreement terms, policies, and industry regulations
Collaborate with internal partners (Franchise Operations, Product, Program leaders) to improve adoption and effectiveness of programs
Monitor market and industry trends and translate insights into actionable strategies
Act as a trusted advisor and escalation point for franchise owners
Hire, coach, and develop high‑performing Franchise Consultants through consistent feedback and talent routines
What you'll bring to the team...
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in franchising, multi-unit retail, or a similar distributed field environment
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience through a combination of education and leadership roles
Experience supporting franchise and/or hybrid franchise–company‑owned models with a strong understanding of franchisor–franchisee dynamics
Demonstrated ownership of regional P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability improvement
Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience using KPIs and performance data to identify risks, opportunities, and action plans
Ability to develop and execute short‑ and long‑term regional strategies aligned to enterprise priorities
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high‑performing field leaders (e.g., district or regional teams), including indirect reporting relationships
Strong judgment and comfort making independent, high‑impact decisions in a fast‑moving environment
Demonstrated skill in influencing outcomes through partnership rather than authority, especially with franchise owners
Experience overseeing multi‑unit operations (retail, franchise, hospitality, or service environments strongly preferred)
Working knowledge of regional operations, performance management, and continuous improvement practices
Ability to balance operational excellence with growth, change leadership, and franchisee experience
Highly effective communicator—able to translate strategy, financial insights, and operational priorities for diverse audiences
Strong executive presence and relationship‑building skills with franchise owners, cross‑functional partners, and senior leaders
Comfortable with regional travel and flexibility based on business and franchise needs

Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
Pay Range
$132,200.00 - $224,700.00/Yr.
