Gen Z Fashion Board Program Internship Opportunity Where your style opinions shape what hits the racks next. Are you always spotting the next big trend before your friends? Do you live on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest moodboards?

Do you have strong opinions on what slays—and what’s getting left in 2020? If so, join the Avalon Apparel Fashion Board, a nationwide digital focus group program where your voice helps shape the next generation of fashion sold at major retailers like Nordstrom, Target, Urban Outfitters, Macy’s, Walmart, and more.

Avalon

Apparel is a women’s design house based in Los Angeles that creates private label collections for some of the biggest names in retail—you might even have pieces in your closet that started as an Avalon design.

The Fashion

Board was created as a way for our design team to gather real-time insights straight from the customer. We rely on our members to help guide everything from trend direction to design details, making sure what we create actually resonates with the next generation of shoppers. It’s a community that directly influences what hits the racks next—and that’s where you come in. What You’ll Do: This isn’t a traditional internship—think of it as a creative collab between you and our design team.

Engage with our Instagram, where we post daily polls and questions to get real-time feedback on styles, silhouettes, prints, and more

Submit your trend obsessions: TikToks, Pins, screenshots—anything that screams “next big thing”

Occasionally complete quick design-related Google Forms that help guide real product development

See your opinions reflected in actual pieces hitting stores nationwide What You’ll Get:

Real-world insight into the fashion industry from design to retail

Monthly raffles, surprise gifting, and opportunities to be featured

Opportunity to network with professionals across trend forecasting, design, and sales teams

Can be listed on your resume as a fashion internship or focus group experience What We’re Looking For:

Passion for fashion, trends, and pop culture

Active on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.

A unique perspective—we want individuality, not just trend followers This is a super low-commitment, all-digital opportunity—just a few hours per month. Open to all majors, but especially great for students interested in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Marketing, or Business. To apply, submit your resume along with a mini project that showcases your trend POV and fashion expertise.

This could be a moodboard of your favorite trends this season, a collage capturing a specific aesthetic, a Pinterest board of Gen Z style inspo, or a short presentation highlighting key cultural moments shaping fashion—anything that shows your unique perspective. Please upload your project as a PDF or PowerPoint. Applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis (and year-round), so don’t panic if you don’t hear back ASAP.

A 3-month minimum commitment is required, with the option to stay on longer (which many do - some have been with us for years!). Applicants of interest will be asked to complete a screening interview via WedgeHR. Check with your school's Internship Coordinator before accepting the hiring offer to determine if this position satisfies the criteria for receiving academic credit. *Please email your project in addition to submitting your application to [email protected]
