Give to Africa is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit connecting global donors with vetted, grassroots nonprofits across Africa. We equip African-led organizations with the tools, funding, and visibility they need to deliver life-saving programs in education, health, women’s empowerment, clean water, and more. Our mission is to make cross-border giving accessible, transparent, and impactful—unlocking generosity to power locally led change.
Volunteer Role: Grant Writer & Fundraising Volunteer
We are seeking passionate and skilled volunteers to help us raise critical funds for our growing network of 140+ African nonprofit partners across 10 countries. This is an opportunity to use your writing, research, and fundraising skills to directly support grassroots changemakers doing vital work on the frontlines.
- What You’ll Do:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations and donor agencies
- Write compelling grant proposals, LOIs, and concept notes
- Support the development of fundraising campaigns (email, social media, donor outreach)
- Help create donor materials, sponsorship decks, and fundraising toolkits
- Contribute to overall fundraising strategy and donor cultivation efforts
- Collaborate with our team using project tools like Monday.com and Google Workspace
- What We’re Looking For:
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development (preferred but not required)
- Passion for social justice, global development, and African-led change
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with an international team
