Job Title: High School Math Teacher – General Education

A public high school in the New Orleans, Louisiana area is seeking a passionate and dedicated General Education Math Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment, delivering high-quality math instruction, and supporting the academic growth of all students. This role will involve teaching Algebra, Geometry, and/or other high school-level math courses as assigned.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in high school math subjects.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Louisiana State Standards.
- Assess and monitor student performance regularly to ensure academic progress.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and behavior documentation.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, school leadership, and support staff to enhance the educational experience.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Participate in professional development sessions, faculty meetings, and school events.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (required).
- Valid Louisiana teaching certification in secondary mathematics or eligibility to obtain certification (required).
- Experience teaching in a high school setting preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of math content and effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
