Job description: The full-time Human Resources Assistant's daily workflow includes assigned and self-directed tasks. Assists by supporting company management and others with questions and follow-ups specific to Human Resources coordination. Reports to Business Office Manager.
- Duties/Responsibilities include and may not be limited to:
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of files and records.
- Answers frequently asked questions from management and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, etc.; coordinates with management and staff on more complex questions.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- Assists with the preparation of governmental agency reporting and coordination.
- Collects and maintains data and information required for benefits administration.
- Assists with ensuring compliance with federal, state, payroll, wage & hour laws, and best practices.
- Maintains or assists with the maintenance of employee records.
- Facilitates audits by assisting with preparing records and documentation for audits.
- May assist with accounting department tasks or other duties as assigned.
- Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for self and others.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Business suites, or related software.
- Proficient with or have the ability to human resource information systems (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Proficient with PC keyboarding skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Business Suite, or similar software.
- Education and Experience:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required,
- An Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
- Prior related office experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Intermittent standing, walking
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Compensation:
- The HR/Receptionist position's starting pay range is between $21-$23 per hour depending on relevant experience.
