JOB SUMMARY
Purisolve is seeking an IBM Mainframe z/VM Security Specialist (Remote) with the appropriate technical skills and experience to support our client team.
Note: Experience with z/VM on IBM z Series Mainframes is required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Only applicants meeting the following minimum qualifications and having the requisite experience to immediately satisfy the responsibilities, outlined below, will be considered:
- Minimum qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen or a 3-year resident, due to clearance requirements.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience installing, configuring, and maintaining upgrades of the following software/tools on IBM z Series Mainframes for Corporations and/or Government Agencies.
- IBM z/VM (minimum 3 years)
- IBM RACF for z/VM (minimum 3 years)
- IBM zSecure (minimum 3 years)
- ISPF (minimum 3 years)
- LDAP within z/VM (minimum 3 years)
- DirMaint (minimum 3 years)
- Must demonstrate above-average oral and written communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter, possess strong organizational skills, be able to work independently, and manage projects/priorities.
- Responsibilities:
- On the IBM z Series Mainframe, using z/VM Hypervisor software, support the virtualization of z/Linux operating system environments.
- Provide technical software expertise to install, configure, and maintain the following software/tools within an IBM z Series Mainframe z/VM environment.
- IBM zSecure
- IBM RACF for z/VM
- DirMaint
- ISPF
- Establish and configure LDAP Services within an IBM Mainframe z/VM environment.
- Create/assist with developing Standard Operating and Desktop Procedure documentation for the above work processes.
- Create and maintain schedules for software installation projects.
- Maintain an understanding of ISPF within an IBM mainframe z/VM environment.
- Provide knowledge transfer/training to current IRS support staff, including documentation of processes and procedures.
- Verify that all "Best Practices" have been followed to ensure that installations fall within mandated security guidelines.
- If needed, provide technical expertise and services in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Vanguard Security Manager within an IBM Mainframe z/VM environment. See 'Desired Experience' section below.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
- The following experience is a plus:
- Vanguard Security Tool Experience (at least 2 years)
- Vanguard Security Manager (at least 3 years)
- EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
