Lead Digital Illustrator & Animator

Our client is a cutting-edge digital media studio seeking a highly creative and skilled Lead Digital Illustrator & Animator to join their entirely remote team. This role is perfect for an artist who thrives on visual storytelling and can bring characters and concepts to life with exceptional skill. You will be instrumental in shaping the visual style and execution of various digital projects, collaborating closely with directors, producers, and other artists from the comfort of your home office. We are looking for an individual with a strong portfolio demonstrating a wide range of artistic styles and animation techniques.

As a Lead Digital Illustrator & Animator, your responsibilities will include:
Conceptualizing and creating original illustrations and character designs for diverse digital platforms. Developing high-quality 2D and/or 3D animations that align with project briefs and artistic direction. Collaborating with the creative team to define and maintain the visual aesthetics of projects. Leading and mentoring junior artists, providing constructive feedback and ensuring artistic consistency. Overseeing the animation pipeline, from storyboarding and animatics to final rendering and compositing. Managing project timelines and deliverables for illustration and animation tasks. Experimenting with new tools, techniques, and technologies to push creative boundaries. Ensuring all visual assets meet technical specifications and quality standards for various output formats. Participating in brainstorming sessions and contributing innovative ideas to project development. Troubleshooting and resolving technical or artistic challenges that may arise during production.
Required Qualifications:
A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional illustration and animation skills, with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the field. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Toon Boom Harmony, Maya, or equivalent. Deep understanding of animation principles, storytelling, and visual design. Experience in leading creative projects and mentoring artists is highly desirable. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently. A keen eye for detail, color theory, and composition. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
