Nonprofit Accountant/Finance Associate
About the position
- Responsibilities
- Assist the CFO with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Provide assistance with actual to budget variance analysis and prepare commentary on financial statements.
- Perform general ledger account and bank statement reconciliations.
- Process accounts payables and receivables, building positive relationships with vendors and patrons.
- Handle cash payments and reconciliations, making bank deposits as needed.
- Process payroll for staff on a bi-weekly basis.
- Assist with various financial special projects, including grant reporting and supplying financial information for grant applications.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
- 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software such as QuickBooks.
- Experience processing payroll, preferably with Paycor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
