Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor (MHC) licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Professional Counselor (PC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or similar credentialed professional to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will support individuals facing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges through evidence-based interventions and personalized care plans. - Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify client needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure immediate safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement, enhance motivation for change, and support recovery goals.
- Provide specialized counseling for children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and those requiring special education or behavioral management strategies.
- Manage patient care documentation meticulously in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including medical records, progress notes, treatment plans, and billing using CPT coding standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teamsâincluding social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managersâto coordinate comprehensive care and facilitate case management efforts.
- Conduct telehealth sessions utilizing secure platforms to extend access to mental health services across various settings.
- Support patients dealing with PTSD, grief, addiction issues, chronic pain management, gender identity concerns, or other specialized areas through targeted therapeutic approaches.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives or data collection efforts aimed at improving treatment outcomes and advancing behavioral health practices.
- Skills
- Extensive experience in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and art or dance/movement therapy.
- Proficiency in crisis management and crisis intervention strategies to effectively de-escalate high-stress situations.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to develop individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder; experience in pediatrics or special education is highly valued.
- Skilled in providing gender issues counseling and supporting clients through complex psychosocial challenges related to identity or trauma.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and security of medical records and sensitive information.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience delivering outpatient services via telehealth platforms; comfortable adapting therapeutic approaches for virtual environments. Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
