Outpatient Coding Auditor (Full & Part-Time, Remote)

GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is a leading provider of Health Information Management (HIM) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) services. We are currently seeking a Remote, Outpatient Coding Auditor to join our growing team of coding professionals. This is a remote opportunity offering flexible hours, 15-20 hours per week, with the possibility of full-time for the right candidate.
Position Summary:
As a remote, Outpatient Coding Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting detailed audits of outpatient coding and charge capture. This includes a strong focus on outpatient surgeries (including complex ortho and neuro procedures), emergency department coding, and injections & infusions charging. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and coding integrity based on the latest official coding guidelines and client requirements.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality assurance audits on outpatient coded records
- Review coding for outpatient surgeries, ED services, and injections/infusions
- Identify trends, provide feedback, and assist in coder education when necessary
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and payer policies
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to improve audit processes and outcomes
- Requirements:
- Required Credentials: CCS, RHIT, and/or COC
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent outpatient coding and auditing experience
- Strong proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, Cerner highly preferred)
- Experience coding complex outpatient surgeries (ortho/neuro), ED, and infusion/injection services
- Knowledge of CMS and commercial payer guidelines
- Available 15-20 hours/week minimum
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Single Path coding (ability to audit both facility and professional services)
- Prior auditing experience in both facility and profee environments
