Part-time Assistant Bookkeeper
Job Summary

We are seeking a team player to fill the role of Assistant Bookkeeper and be a vital member of the Finance Department and Child Care Council teams. Reporting directly to the Senior Bookkeeper and Chief Financial Officer, you will have direct involvement with many of the financial operations of the Council, and support the Senior Bookkeeper and Chief Financial Officer in all activities of the Finance Department.
Responsibilities
ยท Review and record cash receipts in accounting software system
ยท Monthly reconciliation of cash receipts to membership records
ยท Continuous and monthly reconciliation of cash receipts to training registrations
ยท Reconcile cash receipts to fundraising records for each event
ยท Maintaining records and files for the Finance Department
ยท Assist Senior Bookkeeper with month-end process, including compilation of documents necessary for contract invoicing
ยท Interact with customers and vendors
ยท Perform special projects as necessary
ยท Other activities as requested by the Senior Bookkeeper or CFO
Qualifications
ยท Bookkeeping experience
ยท Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
ยท Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
ยท Familiarity with MIP accounting software a plus
ยท Excellent interpersonal skills
ยท Excellent customer service skills
ยท Ability to work effectively as part of a team, or independently, as tasks require
ยท Ability to learn and follow procedures quickly
ยท Commitment to the Councilยs mission
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 17.5 per week
