As a key member of our Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) call center agent team, you'll play a vital role in serving as the first point of contact for external stakeholders interested in reporting a Spotted Lanternfly sighting and/or looking for additional information and resources.

As a Part-Time Customer Service Representative - Spotted Lanternfly, you'll be responsible for maintaining the overall operation and professional image of our customer-focused call center. You'll serve as a first-line point of contact for external stakeholders, responding to customer questions and/or needs, and referring to other department(s)/unit(s) when necessary. You'll also correspond with a diverse customer base by phone, video conference, email, or regular mail, and investigate unusual situations or concerns to assist in problem resolution.

  • *Key Responsibilities**
  • Maintain the overall operation and professional image of the customer-focused call center
  • Serve as first-line point of contact for external stakeholders interested in reporting a Spotted Lanternfly sighting and/or looking for additional information and resources
  • Respond and refer customer questions and/or needs, provide appropriate response/service for situation; and refer to other department(s)/unit(s) when necessary
  • Correspond with a diverse customer base by phone, video conference, email, or regular mail
  • Investigate unusual situations or concerns and assist in problem resolution
  • Operate various equipment and computer systems, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Assist with any required reporting with the College SLF team, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, and/or United States Department of Agriculture
  • Ensure quality of all call center services
  • *Essential Qualifications**
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, and valued in Spanish
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clientele
  • Ability to work as an active member of a team
  • Very organized and able to work with a sense of urgency to meet the expectations of concerned citizens
  • Ability to develop working-level knowledge of Spotted Lanternfly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • *Preferred Qualifications**
  • Experience in customer service, call center, sales, client management, information technology, and/or an understanding of basic entomology
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with Spotted Lanternfly and its impact on communities
