Position Overview – Pharmacy Technician I (Data Entry)

    Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate Data Entry: Input prescription orders, patient demographics, medication histories, and insurance information into arenaflex’s pharmacy management platform with a focus on precision and timeliness.
  • Verification Support: Perform preliminary checks on incoming prescriptions to flag potential errors, dosage inconsistencies, or insurance mismatches before they reach the pharmacist.
  • Communication Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for pharmacies, prescribers, and insurance carriers to resolve data discrepancies and ensure smooth prescription flow.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Uphold federal, state, and arenaflex internal policies—including HIPAA, DEA, and pharmacy board regulations—through diligent documentation and audit readiness.
  • Workflow Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in the data entry process, propose improvements, and collaborate with IT and operations to implement automation tools.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of entered data, generate error reports, and participate in corrective action plans to continuously elevate data integrity.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Pharmacy Technicians II, pharmacists, and the Clinical Services team to prioritize urgent prescriptions and manage workload during peak periods.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide courteous and knowledgeable assistance to patients and pharmacy partners, reinforcing arenaflex’s reputation for compassionate, reliable service.
    Essential Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
  • Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or eligibility to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably with exposure to data entry, prescription processing, or medication dispensing.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating pharmacy software (e.g., PioneerRx, Cerner, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and web‑based data entry portals.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to spot errors, maintain consistency, and adhere to strict data standards.
