About the position
- Responsibilities
- Assist in drug preparation, storage, distribution, and inventory management within various pharmacy environments.
- Participate in Avera Health's Pharmacy Technician Education Program, which includes 400 hours of combined didactic, simulation, and experiential learning activities.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, providers, patients, and co-workers.
- Engage in medication distribution to clinics and critical access hospitals, and repackaging medications into unit dose forms.
- Perform non-hazardous and hazardous sterile compounding as required.
- Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Registration with the state Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of employment.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Nice-to-haves
- Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification certification is a plus.
- Experience in a pharmacy setting is beneficial.
