Principal Business Analyst, Commercial Excellence
Depending on the candidates residing location, this position will operate as Hybrid or Remote.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Commercial Excellence Strategic Account Business Analyst will provide analytic rigor, data-driven insights, and operational support for the U.S. Commercial Operations Strategic Accounts. The role will provide revenue and deal pro forma analysis for strategic accounts contract renegotiations, deal reviews and provide analytic support for developing account strategy. KPIs, account planning support and assisting the Strategic Accounts team will be a major focus.
This position strengthens the Strategic Account team through:

ยท Supporting sales leadership with actionable insights
ยท Enhancing visibility into performance drivers, risks, and opportunities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reporting & KPI Management
ยท Build, automate, and maintain dashboards (Power BI / Python / Excel).
ยท Oversee weekly/monthly performance reporting across accounts, products, and sales teams
ยท Maintain KPI definitions and ensure consistency across Commercial Excellence.
ยท Develop process metrics for Deal Council for leadership purposes
2. Sales Performance & Funnel Analysis
ยท Track sales pipeline trends, win/loss analytics, conversion rates, and booking patterns.
ยท Identify account level performance gaps and opportunities.
ยท Support quota development and attainment tracking.
3. Forecasting & Planning
ยท Work with finance and sales to support short and long term forecasting.- and long-term forecasting.
ยท Provide scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and revenue/profitability impact projections.
ยท Partner with Sales Ops on account planning, coverage modeling, and segmentation.
4. Business Insights & Strategic Analysis
ยท Use data to evaluate pricing, product mix, customer trends, and regional performance.
ยท Conduct root-cause analysis on underperformance or anomalies.
ยท Provide insights that influence strategic decisions around go to market, growth levers, and operational investment.-to-market, growth levers, and operational investment.
5. Data Stewardship & Quality
ยท Maintain master data hygiene across CRM/ERP systems.
ยท Ensure accuracy and integrity of sales, customer, and product datasets.
ยท Work with IT/BI teams to improve sourcing, structure, and accessibility of data.
6. Stakeholder Partnership
ยท Serve as the analytics partner for Sales Leadership, Strategic Accounts and Finance
ยท Translate business questions into analytic frameworks and actionable output.
ยท Communicate insights with clarity to executive audiences.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ยท 5-7 years in Sales Operations, Commercial Excellence, Finance, or BI/Analytics
ยท Experience supporting commercial/sales teams in a complex or multi region environment
ยท Advanced Excel (modeling, PowerQuery, complex formulas)
ยท Power BI or Tableau (preferred)
ยท SQL or other data extraction/querying
ยท CRM (Salesforce, Dynamics) reporting experience
ยท Knowledge of forecasting and statistical analysis
ยท Strong commercial acumen and profitability analysis proficiency
ยท Ability to translate data into recommendations
ยท Clear communication, especially for executive-level audiences
ยท Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
ยท Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidateโs work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.
Annual Base Salary Rate: $105,000.00 - $175,000.00
