Product Owner, Automation
Roles & Responsibilities
The product owner will be responsible for gathering requirements from user shadowing, interviews, data analysis, standardization SOPs and industry best practices to define product requirements for their portfolio. The product owner will translate these requirements into user stories to review with development. Understanding the value to the business, the product owner will prioritize the product backlog to ensure the most critical features and stories are delivered first and completely. Once a product feature is released the product owner will test the feature and monitor the success of its implementation using the KPIs defined for that work. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both automation technologies and AI principles, with the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
- Duties/Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for automation products, incorporating AI technologies to solve business challenges and improve efficiency.
- Partner with standardization to implement product features and/or configuration to support standardization. Provide feedback to standardization for product requests on non-standard processes.
- Gather product requirements from operations and translate them into user stories and features for development. Remove or deprioritize ideas that are not ready or do not align with the product direction.
- Review and refine requirements with development.
- Maintain a refined, ready backlog for the development team, that reflects priority for the business.
- Participate in scrum meetings such as refinement, sprint planning, and sprint review.
- Prepare and publish release notes to key stakeholders.
- Support user testing of completed development work, particularly during product release.
- Monitor outcomes and track value and adoption of key features.
- Manage the intake of bugs and small enhancements to correctly solution and prioritize against other features.
- Partner with development to ensure that non-functional requirements are met and needed tech debt backlogs are prioritized.
- Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, emerging AI technologies, and automation industry best practices to ensure product innovation and competitiveness.
- Lead the integration of AI capabilities such as machine learning, natural language processing, and robotic process automation (RPA) into automation products to deliver advanced, intelligent solutions.
- Define success metrics and continuously monitor the performance of automation solutions, leveraging AI to drive improvements and optimizations.
- Required Skills/Attributes:
- Strong business and technical communication skills.
- Experience with agile, scrum, and Kanban product methodologies
- Ability to gather and interpret user feedback and data to define optimal user stories
- Extensive critical and analytical thinking skills required.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and JIRA
- Education and Experience
- This role typically requires a bachelor’s degree. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
- 2+ years of product owner or product management experience
- 2+ years of experience in automation or AI technologies
- Experience and knowledge in federal, state, and commercial billing, compliance, and reimbursement regulations.
- Experienced in healthcare revenue cycle including complex issue investigation, root cause identification and solution implementation.
