Remote Part-Time Tutor (Grades 8-12) - Make a Difference from Home

Join Revolution Prep as a Fully Remote Part-Time Tutor and earn a competitive salary while making a positive impact on junior high and high school students' lives. As a remote tutor, you will have the flexibility to work from home and choose your own schedule, with a minimum commitment of 12 hours per week. Our ideal candidate is a passionate and experienced educator with a strong background in STEM and/or AP academic subjects, including foreign languages such as Chinese.

About the Role:

• Tutor students in various academic and test prep subjects (80%)


• Communicate with families regarding student progress and provide recommendations for success (10%)


• Participate in ongoing professional development and subject expansion (5%)


• Prepare for sessions using Revolution Prep provided materials (5%)

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• An engaging personality and a commitment to customer service


• A "growth mindset" with a willingness to learn and adapt to challenges


• Expertise in STEM and/or AP academic subjects and foreign languages (specifically, Chinese)


• A Bachelor's degree (advanced degrees welcomed) and experience teaching or tutoring (desired but not required)

Professional Requirements:

• High-speed internet with an ability to connect via ethernet cable and a clean, quiet, professional setting for online sessions


• Availability to work on at least one weekend day and commit to employment and schedule requirements for at least one school year


• Authorization to work in the United States and current residence in the US

Schedule Requirements:

• Availability to post at least 16 hours of availability in blocks of 4+ hours per week, with a goal of 12+ hours of delivery


• At least 8 hours of availability must be posted on weekends, and all hours must be posted 9+ months in advance


• Any requests for time off must be submitted 4 weeks in advance

Technology Requirements:

• A Mac/PC desktop or laptop with high-speed internet and strong reception/service


• 4GB or more of available memory/RAM


• Revolution Prep will provide a webcam, headset, ring light, green screen, and an annotation tablet to support online instruction
