Job Summary:


The Patient Accounts Representative will be responsible for supporting the reduction of Accounts Receivables by performing a variety of duties, including assisting patients with their bills or other financial aspects of their care, responding to correspondence, billing and re-billing, addressing denial issues, and handling credits and trend monitoring.


Essential Functions:



  • Take actions to maximize collection of balances due or account resolution from all sources, meeting Quality and Productivity expectations.

  • Facilitate account resolution by accurately identifying, following up on, or correcting billing errors, lower than expected reimbursement, or denials for correction and submission or resubmission to patients and/or insurance carriers.

  • Timely identify, research, and resolve any issues that may cause delays in payment or account resolution, and identify opportunities to improve collections and follow-up activities.

  • Collaborate with teams, peers, and revenue cycle departments to achieve shared goals and objectives.


Job Requirements:



  • High School diploma required.

  • 1-2 years of experience in healthcare insurance billing or account follow-up.

  • Prior experience with Medicaid and Charity Care.

  • Strong knowledge of Patient Accounting systems.

  • Ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.


Scheduling Requirements:



  • Shift working: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:30am - 6:30pm ET.

  • Full-time position.
