Remote Senior Claims Adjuster - Property & Casualty
Our client, a reputable national insurance provider, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Claims Adjuster specializing in Property & Casualty to join their fully remote claims department. This role offers the flexibility to work from home while managing complex claims. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of insurance policies, regulatory requirements, and claims handling best practices. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and settling property and casualty claims with efficiency and fairness. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to policyholders during challenging times.
Responsibilities:
Investigate, evaluate, and determine coverage for complex property and casualty insurance claims, including homeowners, renters, and commercial property. Conduct thorough damage assessments, often utilizing virtual tools and collaborating with external adjusters or contractors. Interview claimants, witnesses, and relevant parties to gather information and document claim details. Interpret insurance policies, endorsements, and exclusions to ensure accurate coverage application. Negotiate settlements with claimants and legal representatives, ensuring fair and timely resolution. Manage a caseload of assigned claims, maintaining accurate and detailed records within the claims management system. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations pertaining to claims handling. Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive claim reports and recommendations for claim approval or denial. Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious claims for further investigation. Provide guidance and support to less experienced adjusters, acting as a subject matter expert. Collaborate effectively with internal teams such as legal, underwriting, and special investigations. Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the claims process, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in property and casualty claims adjusting. Proven experience handling complex residential and commercial property claims. Current state adjuster licenses in multiple states, or ability to obtain them. Strong understanding of construction, repair processes, and relevant building codes. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet stringent deadlines. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the insurance industry. Experience with Xactimate or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
