Remote Senior Trucking Logistics Coordinator

Our client is a leading provider of transportation and logistics services, and they are looking for a dedicated professional to manage and optimize their trucking operations. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining strong relationships with drivers and clients. This role requires exceptional communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, all performed within a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily trucking operations, ensuring efficient scheduling and dispatching of loads. Manage a fleet of trucks and drivers, providing support and addressing any issues that arise. Track shipments in real-time and communicate updates to clients and internal stakeholders. Negotiate rates with carriers and optimize routes to minimize costs and transit times. Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards. Develop and maintain strong relationships with drivers, dispatchers, and third-party logistics providers. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to manage load data, track performance, and generate reports. Proactively identify and resolve logistical challenges to prevent delays and ensure customer satisfaction. Analyze operational data to identify trends and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Handle customer inquiries and provide exceptional service throughout the shipping process. Assist in training and onboarding new logistics coordinators. Maintain accurate records of all shipments, driver logs, and operational expenses. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations. Manage crisis situations and implement contingency plans when necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in trucking logistics, dispatching, or fleet management. Proven experience with transportation management software (TMS). Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a remote setting. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure. Experience managing a team or mentoring junior staff is a plus. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Must be based in the United States and eligible to work remotely.
