Sales Engineer, Aerospace & Defense- Arizona
Join AMETEK Aerospace & Defense as a Sales Engineer supporting OEM customers through complex, technically driven engagements across the aerospace and defense markets. Covering the Arizona territory and operating from a home office, this role is ideally suited for a Sales Engineer or Field Applications Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, customer requirements, and solution development. Reporting at the division level, you will act as a technical interface for Tier 1 and sub‑tier OEMs across eight business units—supporting design‑in activities, translating customer specifications into viable solutions, coordinating cross‑functional engineering resources, providing on-site customer support and enabling long‑term platform adoption within critical A&D applications.
This position reports to the Aerospace & Defense Regional Sales Manager.
What You Will Do in the Role
Customer Facing Interface: As the cornerstone of this role, you represent on a technical level the A&D organization:
Your foremost duty is to interface on a regular basis with key technical personnel among our key customers.
Assist with customer service, technical and sales functions.
Guide customers through technical requirements, craft specifications, and proposal management.
Maximize Impact: You’ll be tasked with being the primary technical interface with our key customers within the territory:
Operating within the established aerospace and defense market including sectors like military and commercial aviation, ground vehicles, and space, you’ll navigate diverse customer requirements to capitalize on every opportunity.
Interface with all 8 business units within AMETEK Aerospace & Defense who manufacture a broad range of products for thermal management systems.
Cultivating profound connections with key strategic customers will be a priority, fostering enduring partnerships that drive sustained sales.
What You Will Bring to the Role
BA/BS in an Engineering or equivalent technical field is required
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical role in the Aerospace and/or Defense sectors
Willingness to travel within the defined (AZ) territory and to AMETEK A&D Business units for training purposes
Strong ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to support a multitude of business organizations and structures
Strong communication and presentation skills; you thrive on in-person customer facing interactions.
Experience preferred in an outward, customer-facing role and/or sales role
This position is remote from a home office but must be in the state of Arizona
Ability to pass a background check and 9-panel drug test
