Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day workflow of the Radiology Quality Assurance (QA) program. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Production Control Support Team with workflow, supporting the Physician Scheduling Team with radiologist (rad) schedule management and providing overflow assistance to the Operations Center.
Managing the daily QA workflow, this Team Member must build strong internal and external relations to facilitate professional and reliable communications as related to physician QA.
The Operations Center at vRad provides world-class customer support to our clients by monitoring and facilitating radiology workflow processes that are critical to patient care on a 24/7 basis for hospitals, clinics and radiologists. To effectively meet this need, the Operations Support Representatives provide constant monitoring of incoming orders and images to: (i) ensure that all relevant clinical information has been submitted; (ii) complete data order entry, on both a proactive and reactive basis; and (3) identify and/or troubleshoot non-technical issues.
The PCS team’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to) properly identifying and assigning studies to specialized radiologists, prioritization of critical cases, management and reporting of TAT, and communicating with the Operations Center, radiologists, and personnel at our client facilities in a professional, courteous and timely manner. Due to the nature of this business and its critical role in facilitating emergent patient care, multi-tasking, following procedure, extreme attention to detail, relationship management, regular and reliable attendance, and a sense of urgency are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide regular, reliable, and timely attendance for scheduled shifts
Manage all administrative aspects of vRad’s Quality Assurance submission processing
Perform the daily QA processing and workflow, assists with the QA Committee physician schedule, ensures timeliness of QA responses to Clients
Serve as a primary contact for all internal and external client needs related to QA
Responsible for developing and maintaining productive relations and communications with all Client QA contacts
Assist Medical Leadership Team and QA Committee directly for Client QA Calls/Visits/Inquiries
Manage production workflow pertaining to volume distribution, TAT Service Levels and Rad Productivity
Make real-time rad workforce adjustments based on Rad Capacity vs. Study Demand needs, including the activation of radiologists for backup shifts, Delta Force utilization (On Call Rads), etc.
Monitor, track and report daily production levels and notable events that impact Operations if/when applicable
Provide input to identify and resolve TAT level as well as areas of improvement including site coverage and rad privileges
Assists with the QA Committee physician schedule and work with Rad Comp Team to ensure the QA Committee is properly compensated
Managing addendums and physician calls on Final Cases as directed by the QA Committee

Ensuring that AI flagged cases are reviewed within a timely manner
Manage the client Peer Review worklist and escalate studies as needed
Coordinate client requested Peer Review Letter responses with the radiologists, Medical Leadership and Legal within the given timeframes
Provide OPPE data to clients with approval from Medical Leadership
Assist with rad schedule management when needed and real-time rad shift adjustments

Qualifications/Education:
Associate degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 4 years of customer service-related experience
Excellent written and verbal communication
Effective problem-solving abilities
Analytical approach and proven leadership
Discretion with confidential information
Capable of working in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and able to multitask on a regular basis
Ability to work independently with general direction
Professional, courteous and respectful demeanor
Previous Healthcare experience preferred
Job Classification:
Sedentary- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. A sedentary job involves sitting most of the time.
