Scrum Master
The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating agile processes and ceremonies for development teams. This role will support the team in delivering high-quality products and services by fostering an environment of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. The Scrum Master acts as a servant-leader, coaching the team in agile principles and practices, removing impediments, and shielding the team from external interferences. This role is full-time and remote.
- What You'll Do
- Organize and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives
- Ensure ceremonies are productive, time-boxed, and result in actionable outcomes
- Maintain and update the team's sprint board and other agile tools (e.g., Jira, Digital.ai) to ensure transparency and accuracy of work progress.
- Coach the development team on Scrum values, principles, and best practices
- Promote self-organization and cross-functionality within the team
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress, escalating when necessary
- Help the team continuously improve its processes and productivity through retrospectives and feedback loops
- Foster clear communication channels between the development team, Product Owner, and other stakeholders
- Assist the Product Owner in maintaining a well-groomed and prioritized product backlog
- Protect the team from outside distractions and unsolicited requests.
- Track and report on sprint progress, velocity, and other key agile metrics
- Use data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and communicate team performance
- Contribute to the agile community of practice within client, sharing knowledge and learning from others
What You'll Need
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3-5 years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team
- Experience with agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar.
- Familiarity with various agile techniques (e.g., User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong servant-leadership abilities
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) certification
