Senior Agronomist - Crop Yield Optimization
Our client, a leading innovator in agricultural technology, is looking for a Senior Agronomist to join their team in **Boston, Massachusetts**. This hybrid role offers the chance to blend field expertise with advanced data analysis to drive significant improvements in crop yield and sustainability. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing cutting-edge agronomic strategies for a variety of crops, working closely with research, development, and field operations teams.
Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive agronomic programs to optimize crop yields, quality, and resource efficiency. Conduct field trials and research studies to evaluate new crop varieties, fertilizers, pesticides, and cultivation techniques. Analyze soil, weather, and crop data to provide data-driven recommendations for planting, fertilization, irrigation, and pest/disease management. Utilize advanced agricultural technologies, including precision agriculture tools, remote sensing, and data analytics platforms. Collaborate with plant breeders, geneticists, and R&D teams to integrate new findings into practical farming applications. Provide technical expertise and training to farm managers, agronomists, and field staff. Monitor crop health and performance throughout the growing season, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively. Prepare detailed reports on research findings, field trial results, and program effectiveness. Contribute to the development of sustainable agricultural practices and environmental stewardship initiatives. Stay informed about the latest advancements in agronomy, crop science, and agricultural technology.
Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a closely related agricultural field. Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in agronomy, crop management, or agricultural research. Proven experience with crop physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management. Proficiency in using agricultural data analysis software, GIS, and precision agriculture technologies. Strong understanding of sustainable farming practices and their implementation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively to diverse audiences. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid work model. Willingness to travel to field sites as needed, within the **Boston, Massachusetts** region and surrounding agricultural areas.
