- *Job Summary**
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Item Execution and Instrumentation team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and architectures that support our business operations. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. - *Key Responsibilities**
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and architectures using Scala, Python, and other programming languages
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines in big data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and deploy data solutions
- Work with key partners to implement Lakehouse architecture and migrate to a Lakehouse-driven data platform
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of data pipelines and architectures to ensure data quality and governance
- Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of data solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Engineering teams)
- Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure team health and collaboration
- Identify and solve complex technical problems and opportunities for automation and cost optimization
- Engage with and understand our clients, building relationships that enable us to deliver innovative new solutions and steady platform enhancements
- *Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Strong algorithmic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Solid SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Experience with big data technologies like Snowflake, Redshift, or other MPP databases
- Strong experience with data integration toolsets like Wind current and data pipelines with Databricks
- Experience with data modeling and data warehousing best practices
- Familiarity with agile and scrum methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- Experience with data engineering tools like Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or other big data processing frameworks
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms like AWS Lake Formation or Google Cloud Data Fusion
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks
- Experience with DevOps and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
