Senior Logistics Operations Manager - Supply Chain Optimization

Our client, a global leader in supply chain solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Logistics Operations Manager to drive excellence in their operations. This role is fully remote, enabling you to work from any location within the US, and offers a unique opportunity to shape and optimize complex logistics networks. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of transportation management, warehousing, inventory control, and supply chain technology. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across the supply chain. This position requires strong leadership skills, exceptional analytical capabilities, and a proven track record of managing large-scale logistics operations.

Responsibilities:
Oversee and optimize end-to-end logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance delivery performance. Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Utilize supply chain analytics and technology (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP) to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement. Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost containment and maximizing ROI. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, procurement, manufacturing) to align logistics strategies with business objectives. Implement and refine inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize carrying costs. Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging automation and technology to drive efficiency and scalability. Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards. Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and implement effective corrective actions. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in logistics and supply chain management. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain. Qualifications:
Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a significant focus on operations. Proven experience managing complex transportation networks (ocean, air, truckload, LTL) and warehouse operations. Deep understanding of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and drive cost savings initiatives. Experience with project management and implementing supply chain solutions. Proficiency in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools). Familiarity with international logistics and customs procedures is a plus.
