Senior WordPress Developer — Wellness/Author/Public Figure Sites
Overview: We're redesigning the website of Dr. Jeffrey Bland, widely recognized as the father of functional medicine and author of a new book being published by a major publishing house in January 2027. We need an experienced WordPress developer who has built sites for authors, wellness influencers, physicians, or public figures — and who understands what it takes to architect a site around a book launch campaign and sustained content strategy.
You're the right fit if:
- You have a portfolio of 3+ sites built for authors, MDs, coaches, or wellness influencers
- You are fluent in Elementor Pro, Kadence Pro, or Blocksy Pro (tell us which you prefer and why)
- You have hands-on experience integrating Klaviyo with WordPress — including form embeds, list segmentation, and custom property mapping. ConvertKit or ActiveCampaign experience is a plus but Klaviyo is the platform in use here
- You understand Core Web Vitals and can deliver a site that scores 90+ on Google PageSpeed
- You've built dedicated book landing pages with multi-retailer buy button grids
- You're comfortable working within an existing brand identity and taking direction from a strategist and creative director
Bonus points:
- Experience implementing Shopify Buy Button embeds within WordPress — specifically placing shoppable product blocks on pages and posts without disrupting the WordPress content experience
- Experience building Klaviyo signup flows that segment subscribers at the point of capture (e.g., separating general readers from practitioners or existing customers)
- Experience with WP Rocket or similar caching and performance plugins
- Familiarity with Schema markup for Book structured data
What this is NOT: We are not looking for a theme installer or someone who will hand us a Squarespace-style template with the name swapped out. This is a meaningful project for a major public figure with a top publisher book launch. WooCommerce is not in scope for this project.
