Small Enhancements to Existing PHP + MySQL Quote System (No Rebuild)

Overview

We operate a commercial print business with an existing PHP + MySQL quoting system.

We are not rebuilding or migrating platforms.

We need controlled, minimal enhancements to improve pricing behavior and historical visibility.

This is a small, focused job.

Scope of Work (No Rebuild)

• Do not refactor or redesign the system. Keep existing PHP + MySQL intact.

• Add new Economy Printer record to printer table.

• Set Digital + Economy stock as default selections for new quotes.

• Keep Premium/Indigo available, but relabel as “Upgrade” (UI text change only).

• Update/create Economy markup profile only if required (no pricing engine rewrite).

• Do not modify existing PDF generation logic.

History Check Tool

• Add small “Check History” button on quote screen.

• Build lightweight PHP endpoint (read-only).

• Query MySQL for similar jobs by Client + Size + Qty + Printer.

• Return last 5–10 matching jobs.

• Display modal table: Date | Description | Qty | Tier | Sell | GP%

• Show banner if majority of past jobs were Premium.

• No automatic tier switching — informational only.

Process Requirements

• Work on cloned dev database only.

• Keep changes minimal and reversible.

• No framework migration.

• No architectural redesign.

• Clean, documented additions only.

Budget & Time

We expect this to be a small job (approx. 8–12 hours).
