About the position
- Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, permitting, and constructing tower and small cell infrastructure for the 5G network.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable the 5G network build.
- Lead or work on multiple small to medium projects or one large project.
- Perform project management activities, maintain project trackers, and facilitate area-wide project calls.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve real estate and lease-related issues to meet deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Perform analysis with design and engineering teams to identify new network tower and data hub locations.
- Develop resolutions to complex problems requiring creativity and decision-making.
- Facilitate meetings and compose presentations.
- Review proposed agreements and work with legal and management to interpret and evaluate them.
- Negotiate with landlords, their agents, and vendors to preserve company rights and meet obligations.
- Interface with city permitting officials and departments of public service.
- Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a qualifying bachelor's degree program at the University of Michigan.
- Good academic standing with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and May 2026.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
- Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.
- Nice-to-haves
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Completed coursework in computer programming (Python/R), linear algebra, physics, probability/statistics, and/or machine learning/data management/data analysis/data structures.
- Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management, and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.
